In short, the staff make this hotel. So attentive, nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel welcome the minute you revolve through the doors! An excellent and spacious room, upgraded, comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom roomy and well equipped. There is a delicious smell throughout the hotel, complimentary drinks and snacks and a very good breakfast. Location excellent too. If you're wondering whether to book, do it! You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to return!

After a great experience at this hotel 3 years ago, I went out of my way to stay here again. I was glad I did. The staff really make the hotel. From the moment I walked in after a tiring overnight flight, they welcomed me to a nearby chair, checked me in easily with one of their iPads and had a manager come out to thank me for coming back. I thought that was a nice touch.Throughout my stay, they referred to me by name and offered fantastic customer service. Whether I needed a ticket for the hop stop bus, money changed, luggage moved, a cab or directions, they were friendly and efficient. Overall, I really felt they had pride in the hotel and in doing a good job. It was the same vibe I got from three years ago, which led me to come back. I actually stayed twice in this hotel during a week (5 nights total, with a few days off for a conference elsewhere) so I got to see two rooms. In both cases, they were upgraded kings. They had similar room, but slightly different layouts. The rooms were much larger than I expected. I was alone, but it would have been plenty of room for a couple. Both had a couch and large work desk. The first room had a table in front of the couch, which worked well for room service my first night. The other room had a lounge chair and ottoman. It was also comfortable. I only had one hiccup with my second check-in, which was late at night, but that was also quickly fixed and I even received a nice apology note and snack from a manager afterwards. Both managers that I met during my two stays and were professional and friendly. The bathroom was plenty big for me. My first room was a shower/tub combo while the second room had them separate. I was fine with either, but if it matters, you could probably make a request. The tub was a big soaking tub, which was great for a jet-lagged traveler. One item I really appreciated was plenty of space in the bathroom to hold items. Behind the mirror were several deep shelves, so I could store everything I needed. This was much appreciated. I had room to spare, so a couple or family would be fine here, too. They had big bath sheets on towel warmers, which was a treat. You just need to be careful getting out of the tub, as it's high. The only food I ordered at the Andaz was the salmon from room service. It was fantastic and came with so many sides I couldn't eat it all. I didn't get a chance to eat from their huge breakfast buffet, but I took a look on my way out and it looked great. My friend had it once and highly recommended it. Another bonus, which others have mentioned, is the complimentary drinks and snacks. There was apple juice, orange juice, water (still and sparkling), soda bag of snacking seeds, and oat bar. There were also apples in the lobby as well as other snacks. My second room had a view of the street while my first room didn't have much of a view. I live in a city, so I didn't notice any noise. As for location, it is right down the street from Paddington station. After you get out of the tube, you leave the train station and can literally see the hotel from there. It was convenient for sight seeing. I also walked one day to the Tower of London. On Sunday, ask them to point out the market that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. By the way, the hotel also has an old masonic temple. I didn't see it this trip but I saw it three years ago and it was cool to check out. Bottom line, this is a great hotel with fantastic staff and I recommend it.

I stayed twice at this hotel. Complimentary drinks and cookies at reception and also complimentary soft drinks in the rooms. The only bad thing I found in this hotel is that the room was a bit cold but they brought me a heater. Stuff is really polite and the checkin is in a modern way. The location is also very good next to the underground station.

"Incredibly loud - not for light sleepers"

We stayed here for 4 nights on business. The check-in/check-out was flawless and the service seems very good overall plus great location for business, but the rooms are SO LOUD! I did not see any reviews mentioning this while doing a quick Tripadvisor run-through prior to booking but in my room, every time one of the neighboring rooms' toilet flushed-- my whole bed shook!!! The plumbing system is vacuum based and it is sooooo loud and literally shook my bed several times each night and morning. I couldn't believe it! I could also hear the showers being turned on with a really loud whiny noise in the pipes, and the person above me walking in the room. My colleague's room was apparently closer to Liverpool Station and he heard train announcements all night. We had horrible sleep and on top of our jet lag, it did not make for a pleasant stay. Next time in London, I will definitely look for a hotel in an area not adjacent to a train station and will ask in advance if there are vacuum based toilets!
